Custom Bible Rebind | Restore or Personalise, Quarter Bound in Leather
Custom Bible Rebind | Restore or Personalise, Quarter Bound in Leather
$199.00
Custom Bible Rebind has three options, but only one outcome: a book that is built to be opened for the rest of a life.
Bring us a Bible that’s falling apart with a cracked spine, loose pages and a cover that is disappearing and we rebuild it from the inside out. Or we can purchase a brand new Bible (edition determined by you) and we’ll turn it into a personalised gift someone will keep, love, use and treasure.
Either way, it leaves our hands in a brand new leather spine with made raised hubs and bookcloth boards, quarter bound to outlast the one it replaced.
A Bible isn’t like other books. It’s the one with someone’s handwriting in the margins, an inscription inside the cover and a cracked spine from being opened every Sunday for twenty years. When the binding finally gives out, the instinct is to replace it. We think that’s the wrong call.
Kindred Rebinds works on Bibles in three ways.
Rebind to Personalise:
You can send us your personal copy that is still in good condition for a complete rebinding and personalisation. This is for Bibles that are still in good condition. If it requires repairs, please see below.
Personalise New Copy:
If you’d like to start from a brand new Bible, these are great as a christening, confirmation, wedding, or birthday gift. We rebind it and personalise before it’s ever been opened, so the first time someone holds it, it already looks like a family heirloom.
Repairs:
If your bible is worn, split at the spine, or shedding pages, we take it apart and rebuild the binding around the block you already have. You keep your tabs and notes. It is the same book, but what goes back together is stronger than what went in to the bindery. There is also the option to add a pocket into the front cover for leaflets and notes to be stored in your Bible.

What’s Included:
Every Bible leaves us in the same construction: a quarter bind, leather across the spine with made raised hubs, and bookcloth hardcover boards in a colour you choose. It’s a traditional binding style built for books that get handled. The leather takes the wear at the spine where most books fail, and the boards keep the weight down so it’s still a Bible you can hold, not a brick.
- Full rebind in quarter bind construction
- Leather spine with made rasied hubs
- Bookcloth boards avilable in a range of colours.
- Original text block preserved and reinforced (repair option) OR new Bible rebound before first use (personalise option)
This is hand work, done one Bible at a time and takes time to complete all the steps to ensure the final rebound Bible will last.
- Choose Repair (send us your Bible) or Personalise (send in your copy that is in good condition for rebinding) or Choose Purchase New Copy (tell us the edition, we source it)
- Confirm binding colours and any personalisation details. You can send us the bible passage you wish to have on the back
- We rebuild the spine and re-case it in leather, withmade hubs, and bookcloth with HTV on the covers.
- Your Bible ships back ready for another lifetime of use
A Note on Originality

Important Disclaimer
Kindred Rebinds are independently created, hand-rebound books made from legally acquired, authentic copies. They are not official special editions and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced in partnership with the original author(s) or publisher(s). Your Copy, Reborn:
If you chose this option, your Bible travels to our Mackay studio, where the transformation begins. Once you complete your purchase, you’ll receive an email with a shipping label. Please pack your bible safely to avoid damage in transit. Postage to us and return shipping to you are both calculated at checkout.
Order Turnaround:
Your Bible is assessed on arrival, and if it meets our requirements and your selections, the rebinding process begins. Total turnaround, including shipping, is approximately 4 weeks. Need it sooner? Email us with the details and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
We will be in touch if there are any issues.
Your questions answered
Can I send my own books to be rebound?
That is what we call a Rescue. Head to the Shop to "Book your Rescue". Price is reduced as there is no "New" book purchase.
Do you rebind new books?
Yes, of course! Just make your selection when checking out whether you are sending your copy OR purchasing a new copy with your rebind. The price will adjust accordingly.
You save on shipping (as it's only one way), but are charged for the purchase of a new book.
Do you do whole Series or Sets at a time?
That is preferable as it saves on labour as the job is processed in bulk together.
The downside is it obvously has a larger up front cost, but you save in the long run with a multi-book discount for the reasons mentioned above.
How can I get support after purchase?
Each book is made to order. Please be sure to review all product information, refund and returns policy, terms and conditions and production times before placing your order.
Please submit a contact submission if you have any issues or wish to contact Kindred Rebinds.
If you order arrives damaged or you have an issue with the workmanship, you must contact Kindred Rebinds within 3 days of receiving your order and provide photo or video evidence of the issue so it can be assessed.
Can I put design requests in?
You can put the request in with your order. It will be reviewed and you will be notified if there will be an addititional fee for artwork changes or material costs.
So please keep that in mind when making changes.
And remember... It's not a Big Mac...
Do you take custom commissions?
Short answer, of course I can.
Long answer, it really depends on what you want.
Feel free to send a request through for me to review. The more information you provide, the easier it will be to determine whether it is practical to take on the commission.
What is your refund/returns policy?
All rebinds are made by hand and are one of a kind creations.
Because of the hand crafted nature, I do not accept returns or offer refunds on any orders, especially for custom or personalised rebinds because of a change of mind.
For full details, read more here: Refund and Return Policy
How long before my order is shipped after I place it?
All orders are custom made. So as soon as you place the order, you will receive confirmation and once all design and material aspects are finalised, allow:
- 3 weeks for production
- 1 week for shipping within in Australia (approximately).
What if my paperback is in really bad condition?
If the pages have substantial damage from animals, water, time, or kids etc. repairs can be made, but you need to be reasonable in your expectation of the outcome.
Bent or curved books will not look brand new, even after a rebind.
This amount of damage will also disqualify from the Express Exchange Program
