I made it my personal mission to restore and protect my own cherished home library.

Today, through Kindred Rebinds by Kindred Legends, I merge a deep professional understanding of layout, typography, and cover aesthetics with traditional, structural book arts.

Where it all started
I’ve been collecting my favourite books my whole adult life. Some of them are over 20 years old…
And sadly, they looked it in appearance and smell.
These books have shaped my life and who I am as a person and my core beliefs. They’ve influenced me on every level. I’ve even named my first-born son after my most loved, first adult fantasy series I read (click here if you’d like to see what book I’m talking about)
How Kindred Rebinds Came to be
My favourite books were old and crusty. I’ve tried replacing them but I can’t even buy them in a shop anymore. They’re either out of print or there’s not enough demand for shops to stock them.
And worse, it’s rare to be able to even BUY a hard back for the books I love.
AND I am not one to go for trends. I did not want to pay hundred of dollars for books that I loved, but didn’t even like the look of.
So I decided to fix them myself by creating gorgeous new hard covers and restoring the edges to remove the unsightly foxing that many cheap paperbacks fall prey to.
Custom Transformations
Absolutely nothing is changed inside the book. This is not done in conjunction with the publisher or author.
I am simply replacing the covers of pre-published works with designs I have created and physically made.
